SO, here I am on a Tuesday morning wondering where my fresh produce is...should have been here by Saturday.  Fed Ex woman said she got it on Saturday, but the roads have been horrid here with ice and snow since last weekend so, I understand!  FORTUNATELY, Green Polka Dot Box is fantastic with their shipping, and the produce is beautiful!  We have cabbage, celery, chard, green onions, radishes, green and red leaf lettuce, arugula, broccoli, Romain lettuce and lemons and oranges...all 100% organic and NON GMO!!! This is a great thing to be able to get wonderful fresh produce in the middle of winter in West Virginia....I wondered about the carbon cost of transporting this food from Cali...it doesn't matter, if I buy it from Whole Foods the transportation is the same as the produce comes from the same farms.  Once Larry and I are able to build a greenhouse I will not have to truck much of anything; that is the ultimate goal.  To live free from having to rely on our grocery store to provide fresh organic non gmo foods. The joy of growing our own food is indescribable!! Have a great day. I want to accomplish a bit today...weaving, knitting and crocheting along with some house cleaning!

Today January 26 2011

Well, this is my first blog and I am not quite sure what I would like to write.  I know I do have a tenancy to ramble on and on... I am a weaver, knitter, fiber fiend all around.  I am knitting an afghan right now and as soon as I finsh posting this I will be going up stairs to put the warp on my 4H table loom to make a Native style belt.
I will be using fine wool yarn with a dense warp faced weave.  I think I will start with Black, red, yellow and white all used evenly.  I am somewhat commissioned for a number of these by Memorial Day..well, the number being 10 to 15.  Which would not be a problem BUT I also am weaving on my triangle loom 5 shawls by 13 May! Our friends Bj and Shane are getting hitched and these are for the ladies...
I am a very opinionated Sagittarius and I have my own religious and political views.  I am a Pagan with no particular path. I am Buddhist as well but nothing by "ceremony" except my part in one of our local Pagan groups.  I am one of the founding members of this group and am an Elder now.  We have great fun with the group as we do a full moon ritual once a month and do the Sabat and Esabat rituals as well.  We also will be hosting the 5th Annual Nature's Fellowship Faire in August at Abrams Creek Campground in Mt Storm, WV.
Enough for now.  Do not know how this blog will go but it is a nice place to put your thoughts down...
